Well we start the topic is comparative
The comparative is used to make comparisons between two things.
The comparative in English has two forms, one for long adjectives and one for short adjectives.
Long adjectives (with 2 syllables or more) used the word more to make the comparison:
more + adjective + than
I think Katherine is more beautiful than Sylvia. (beautiful - more beautiful)
Japanese is more difficult than Spanish. (difficult - more difficult)
Living in New York is more expensive than living in Phoenix. (expensive - more expensive)
Short adjectives (1 syllable, or 2 if the word ends in a consonant + y) can put the suffix
adj + the suffix -er + that
Today I `m more happy than yesterday. (happy - happier)
Bob is taller than Jim. (high - higher)
Oslo is smaller than Berlin. (small - smaller)
